MacNeil named to fall list at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio — Rachael MacNeil of Argyle was named to the Cedarville University Dean’s List for fall 2018. This recognition required MacNeil to maintain a 3.5 grade point average for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours. MacNeil’s major is social work.

Cornell names fall Dean’s List students

ITHACA — Cornell University has named students to the Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and have earned a semester grade point average of at least 3.50. Local students include:

  • Ethan English of Buskirk, agricultural science with minor in agribusiness management; and
  • Meghan Emily Coldwell of Salem, animal science with a concentration in dairy management.

Martin makes fall Scranton Dean’s List

SCRANTON, Pa. — Ruth C. Martin of Greenfield Center was among nearly 1,600 students named to the University of Scranton’s Dean’s List for the 2018 fall semester. The Dean’s List recognizes students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean’s List. Martin is a junior occupational therapy major in the University’s Panuska College of Professional Studies.

Waterhouse makes list at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Anna Waterhouse of Lake Luzerne was named to the Dean’s List at Muhlenberg College for the fall 2018 semester. To earn this academic achievement, students must earn a grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the term.

Sokol makes list at Wilkes University

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Kyle Sokol of Queensbury has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester at Wilkes University. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must have obtained a minimum 3.5 grade point average and have carried at least 12 credits.

Palazzo named to Plymouth State list

PLYMOUTH, N.H. — Anthony Palazzo of Bolton Landing has been named to the Plymouth State University Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.69 during the fall 2018 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. Palazzo is a fine arts major at Plymouth State.

Local students make Dean’s List at WPI

WORCESTER, Mass. — Local residents were among 1,595 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute named to the university’s Dean’s List for academic excellence for the fall 2018 semester. The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differ from most other universities, as WPI does not compute a grade point average. Instead, WPI defines the Dean’s List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects. Local students include:

  • Kamryn Spinelli of Queensbury, mathematical sciences;

Varsames makes Utica Dean’s List

UTICA — Daniel A. Varsames of Gansevoort has been named to the Dean’s List with a grade point average of 3.4 or more for the fall 2018 semester at Utica College. Varsames is a health studies major with a PT track.

Olsen named to UMass Lowell list

LOWELL, Mass. — Gabe Olsen of Wilton has been recognized for achieving academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Olsen, majoring in art, was named to the Dean’s List at UMass Lowell for the fall 2018 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List at UMass Lowell, a student must have completed no fewer than 12 graded credits for the semester and earned at least a 3.25 grade-point average with no grade lower than C and without any incompletes.

Buffalo State names Dean’s List students

BUFFALO — Buffalo State College recognized students who have been named to the fall 2018 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours. Local students include:

Kilmartin makes fall list at Wentworth

BOSTON — Leonard T. Kilmartin of Hudson Falls made the Dean’s List for the 2018 fall semester at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Students must be full-time and attain at least a 3.5 grade point average to be recognized on the Dean’s List at Wentworth. Kilmartin maintained a semester grade point average of 3.80 out of 4.0 while studying civil engineering.

Oleynek brothers both on Dean’s List

CORTLAND — Mike and Matt Oleynek of Queensbury have been named to the Dean’s List at SUNY Cortland for the fall 2018 semester. They are the sons of Fred and Amy Oleynek. Mike, a 2015 Queensbury High School graduate, is a physical education major. Matt, a 2017 Queensbury grad, is a business economics major.

Hill is on Dean’s List at Keuka College

KEUKA PARK — Avery R. Hill of Queensbury has been named to the Dean’s List at Keuka College in Keuka Park. Hill, daughter of Jeffrey and Deirdre Hill, is a junior occupational therapy major. A Keuka College student must earn at least a 3.50 grade point average for a minimum of 12 semester credit hours to be eligible for the Dean’s List.
