QUEENSBURY — A Connecticut man who had 300 bags of heroin as well as lesser amounts of cocaine and painkiller pills when arrested last fall in Glens Falls has been sentenced to 5 years in state prison.

David A. Gardner, 31, of Enfield, pleaded guilty in July to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in connection with his November 2017 arrest following a traffic stop.

Police believed Gardner and a passenger in his vehicle, who was charged with a misdemeanor, were on their way to deliver the drugs for distribution in the Glens Falls area.

Warren County Judge John Hall sentenced him to 5 years in state prison, to be followed by 2 years on parole.
