QUEENSBURY — A man from New York City who stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from stores in the Queensbury outlet centers last spring has been sentenced to up to 3 years in state prison.

Julian Dejarano, 41, pleaded guilty in October to fourth-degree grand larceny for his April arrest at the Million Dollar Half-Mile outlets for thefts from J. Crew, Tommy Hilfiger and Gap.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office said he gave a fake name when arrested, as he is an illegal immigrant from Colombia who had been deported numerous times.

Police said Dejarano has used dozens of names as he has roamed around the country, committing thefts between deportations. A computerized fingerprint check led to police determining his real identity.

Warren County Judge John Hall sentenced him to 1 to 3 years in state prison, and he faces deportation after his release.
