INDIAN LAKE — A Hamilton County man was charged with felony criminal contempt Saturday after he allegedly threatened a woman who has an order of protection against him, according to police.

Nathan D. Bassett, 25, of Wells, was charged after he had contact with the victim on May 7, in violation of an order protection issued four days earlier, State Police said in a news release. Police said he contacted the woman via text message and phone calls, threatening to harm her.

He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and misdemeanor aggravated harassment, arraigned in Indian Lake Town Court and released on bail.
