21st Congressional District Green Party candidate Lynn Kahn of Schroon Lake on Thursday night joined Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, and Democratic candidate Tedra Cobb of St. Lawrence County in accepting The Post-Star‘s no-lies pledge.
According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Kahn was reached by email Thursday evening and agreed to honor the pledge. “Pretty sad that political candidates have to pledge not to lie!” she wrote. “Personally, I have a reputation for being brutally honest. Maybe from my experience as a clinical psychologist and organizational consultant. If asked, I would of course sign the pledge. However, no one’s asked me. I guess I’m still flying under the radar.”
Earlier Thursday, Stefanik officially accepted the no-lies pledge via Twitter and Cobb accepted by writing a letter to the editor to The Post-Star.
The newspaper’s editorial board published an editorial on July 1 asking Cobb and U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, not to lie when talking to the media or voters, airing television advertisements or when posting to their Facebook pages. The editorial concluded by saying the paper was waiting to hear from the candidates.
