HOOSICK — Emergency crews responded to the scene of a freight train derailment near the border of New York and Vermont on Wednesday night.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office said three propane tankers derailed and rolled over in Hoosick on Wednesday night. Officials said no injuries or leaks in the tanks were reported.
State authorities asked residents in the vicinity of the derailed train to leave their homes as a precaution while New York State Police and environmental officials investigated.
A state Department of Transportation inspector is working to determine the cause of the derailment.
Crews remained on scene throughout the night Wednesday.
