Firefighters save house from adjacent barn fire

This fire destroyed a barn and slightly damaged two neighboring buildings in White Creek on Friday.

WHITE CREEK — A Friday morning fire destroyed a barn on River Road, but firefighters from 12 volunteer departments were able to keep the blaze from spreading to a nearby home.

The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. on River Road, in the hamlet of Eagle Bridge.

Buskirk firefighters arrived to find a barn engulfed in flames, endangering a home and another nearby building. The barn was beyond saving, but firefighters were able to protect the other buildings so that they suffered just minor damage.

No injuries were reported, and the cause was not available.

Buskirk firefighters received mutual aid from their counterparts from Eagle Bridge. Cambridge, Johnsonville, West Hoosick, Hoosick, Hoosick Falls, North Hoosick, Pittstown, White Creek, Shushan, Easton and Greenwich
