The Drum Corps International returned to Glens Falls’ East Field on Saturday after a five-year hiatus. Prior to that, the event had been a tradition for over 30 years.

The event is marching music’s major league. In preparation for the event, some drum and bugle corps rehearsed at local schools Saturday morning and afternoon. The Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps from Nashua, New Hampshire held practice at the Queensbury Union Free School District campus, while the Legends of Kalamazoo, Michigan, practiced at Hudson Falls High School. There were also practices at Fort Ann on Saturday.

During the practices, some groups would run through the motions as a group in advance of the big show or work on individual groups.

The Raiders of Burlington, New Jersey, and the 7th Regiment of New London, Connecticut, were also scheduled to take part in the event on Saturday.
