FORT ANN — A Whitehall woman was jailed Monday night after she was found passed out in her car with two young children in her vehicle, police said.

Amanda D. Alexander, 30, was arrested after State Police found her unconscious in a car on Deweys Bridge Road at 5:23 p.m., with two children under the age of 4 in the vehicle as well.

State Police found the car after dispatchers received calls about erratic operation of a white car on Clay Hill Road, then a complaint about a vehicle stopped with the driver unconscious on Deweys Bridge Road.

Alexander was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or higher, leading to felony charges of aggravated driving while intoxicated, felony DWI and a ticket for moving from a lane unsafely. Police said she has a prior driving under the influence conviction in Vermont.

She was sent to Washington County Jail, pending arraignment, but was released on Tuesday.
