QUEENSBURY — A contractor from Essex County who pleaded guilty to a felony for stealing more than $3,000 from a customer has been sentenced to up to 3 years in state prison.
Jason J. Lamotte, 42, of Elizabethtown, pleaded guilty last year to third-degree grand larceny, a felony, for taking money to do masonry work at a business in Queensbury in 2017 but failing to do the work, court records show. Records did not list what business name he used, if any.
He was arrested in August 2017 by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Warren County Judge John Hall put Lamotte on interim probation for a year after his January 2018 plea and ordered him to make restitution. But he was found to have violated probation, which led to the judge imposing a sentence Wednesday of 1 to 3 years in state prison.
