FORT ANN -- A group of citizens attempting to oust some current members of the Town Board in the election this fall will hold its first public meeting this week.

The Committee for Better Government for the People of Fort Ann will hold a public meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Ann Rescue Squad on Route 149.

Gary Taylor, the group’s spokesman, said the open meeting is to inform the public about the committee and of its goal to seek out and support desirable candidates to run in the 2011 elections.

Members of the six-member committee include Scotty Baldwin, Kim Bender, Howard Denison, Tina Denison, Alex DiLallo, and Taylor. Two four-year term council seats are up for election, as well as the supervisor’s seat, which is a two-year term.

Taylor said the committee is seeking donations to back candidate campaigns. For more information visit
