SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Thomas James Borovsky, 59, a resident of South Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at his home.
He was born on Oct. 25, 1959 in Glens Falls and was the son of the late Frank and Joan (Trayon) Borovsky.
Following high school, he attended SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s in political science. He retired from the State of New York Department of Labor in 2016.
Tom was a loving and generous brother who was devoted and caring; a family man who took care of both of his parents when they were ill. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family adoring his nieces and great-niece, Ava.
He is survived by his sister, Deborah (Borovsky) Wood and her companion, Michael Choppa, of Guilderland; his three nieces, Kathryn Wood and her companion, Nick Finch, Kelsey Wood and her fiancé, Mike Lyons, and Taylor Wood; his great niece, Ava Marie Lyons; his brother-in-law, Duane Wood of Rexford; and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Pine View Cemetery.
Calling hours are scheduled from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday prior to the service at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.
