Teresa was born on April 2, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Canfield and Alice McKenna.
Before dedicating her life to home and family, Teresa worked for several years on Wall Street as a supervisor in the Securities and Exchange Department of the United States Trust Company.
Teresa was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late James G. Rozakis, in August of 1953. This loving union of 57 years was blessed with four children whom she adored.
In addition to being a devoted and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Teresa loved to garden, cook and entertain guests. As a result of her pleasant personality and kind and gentle-hearted nature, she was loved by many. She will be remembered for her wit and wisdom, incessant politeness, patience, generosity and many other positive attributes.
In addition to her parents and husband, Teresa was predeceased by her brother, Albert Canfield (and wife, Alice Canfield); her sister, Mabel Walsh (and husband, Tom Walsh); her two brothers-in-law, Danny O’Neill and Bill Rozakis; and her sisters-in-law, Dr. Kalliope Rozakis (and husband, Dr. Vlassis Pitt) and Dr. Diamando Rozakis (and husband, Christos Rogakos).
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished and deeply missed in the lives of those who survive her: her son, George J. Rozakis of Queensbury, New York; her three daughters, Stelene Sarris (and husband, Kiriakos Sarris) of Huntsville, Alabama, Irene LaRock (and husband, Randell LaRock) of South Glens Falls, New York, and Arlene Cardinale (and Edward Cardinale) of Queensbury, New York; her five grandchildren, Christie Cardinale of Washington, D.C., James Cardinale of Queensbury, New York, Dean Sarris of Los Angeles, California, Demetrios Sarris of Atlanta, Georgia, and Yianni Sarris of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister, Alice O’Neill of Babylon, New York; her two sisters-in-law, Dr. Mary Rozakis (and her husband, Dr. Kostas Deliyiannis) of Chalkida, Greece, and Esther Rozakis of Cleveland, Ohio; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to all her caregivers over the years who tended to her medical needs and helped ease her pain and suffering with their professional care and kindness.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Main St., South Glens Falls.
