GLENVILLE — Robert (Bob) Ireton, 78, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 in Glenville.
Born on June 13, 1940 in Manchester, Connecticut, he was the son of the late George and Fannie (Moore) Ireton.
Bob graduated from SUNY Albany, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in business.
He was employed with the Rotterdam Boys Club and later went to work 29 years for State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster before retiring in 1998.
Bob enjoyed hiking, golfing and especially traveling throughout the United States, England and Ireland.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, Frank Ireton, George Ireton and Benny Ireton; and his sister, Jean Martin, predecease him.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve (Ginger) Ireton of Queensbury; sons, Sean Ireton of Columbia, Missouri, Keith Ireton of Otago, New Zealand and Collin Ireton of Ooltewah, Tennessee; grandsons, Aidan Ireton of Columbia, Missouri, Garron Ireton of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Case Ireton of Ooltewah, Tennessee; nephew, Gerard Martin of Schenectady; and nieces, Maureen Gennett of Clifton Park and Carol Palmer of Schenectady.
A remembrance service will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
