COBLESKILL — Patricia F. Larkin, 79, of Barnerville Road, Cobleskill, formerly of Sloansville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at her home.
Mrs. Larkin was born Nov. 21, 1938 in Glens Falls, a daughter of Howard Michael and Marguerite Grace (Johnson) Breen. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and later graduated from South Glens Falls High School and also received nurses’ training for her LPN. Pat worked at the Community Hospital of Schoharie County, Eden Park Nursing Home, Conifer Park in Glenville and finally retired from the Jardine Group Services in 2001. Pat was instrumental in founding the Schoharie County ARC many years ago. She enjoyed her home life, taking care of others and, of course, cooking. She married Donald C. Larkin on Dec. 10, 1960. He predeceased her on Jan. 16, 2000.
Survivors include her children, Maureen Larkin of Colonie, Donna Larkin Phelan (Michael) of Warnerville, Valerie Gregory (David) of Sloansville, Shirley Petersen (James) of Warnerville and Matthew Larkin (Robin) of Sloansville; 11 grandchildren, Curt Stephens (Jennette), Erica Larkin, Matthew J. Larkin, Nicholas Larkin, Christopher M. Phelan (Danielle), Nathaniel C. Phelan, Amanda Petersen, Bryanna Jangro, Theresa Shelton, Katrina Bick and Mykayla Simzer; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Moore, Hunter Stephens, Bowdie Stephens and Nicholas Larkin Jr., “Peanut”; her sister, Mary Hall of South Glens Falls; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Cole, Joan Maxam, Anna Williams and Shirley Hoey.
A brief graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, where she will be interred next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Pat to the Schoharie County ARC, 121 Opportunity Drive, Schoharie, NY 12157.
