SOUTH GLENS FALLS and COLORADO — Nancy Hopkins DeLano Peck was born on July 18, 1944, the daughter of Walter Ervin Hopkins and Marjorie Burt Hopkins of South Glens Falls, who predeceased her.
She died in Colorado on Aug. 6, 2018 after a long illness.
Nancy attended South Glens Falls Central School and Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie, New York, from which she graduated in 1962. She earned her RN at Adirondack Community College and worked as a nurse in various capacities in Albany, Saratoga and Glens Falls hospitals, including the VA hospital.
Two decades ago she moved to Colorado, where she has lived since then. She was passionate about books, nature and the environment, as well as her family.
She is survived by a brother, Walter Burt Hopkins (and wife Lynn) of Fort Edward; a sister, Bonnie Watson (and husband Jason) of Winthrop, Maine; as well as four children, Deb DeLano of Ballston Spa, Melissa Walker (and husband Michael) of Laporte, Colorado, Matthew DeLano and Mark DeLano of Colorado. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service may be held at a later date.
