LAKE GEORGE — Muriel Sullivan Newcomb, 91, of Lake George, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1927 in Glens Falls, the daughter of the late Reginald and Harriet (White) Sullivan.
Muriel was a graduate of Lake George High School, class of 1945. She continued her education at Plattsburgh State University, graduating in 1949.
She was a schoolteacher for 32 years at several schools in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, before retiring from South Colonie School District in 1985.
Muriel was a member of the New York State Teachers Association, South Colonie Retired Teachers, Lake George Alumni Association and a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Newcomb, who passed away in 1962; her sisters, Ann Marie Folgert and Elizabeth (Betty) Sullivan.
Survivors include her nephews, Thomas Folgert and Mark (Carol) Folgert, all of Hoosick Falls.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in the spring at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lake George.
No calling hours are scheduled.
Burial will also be held in the spring in Caldwell Cemetery, Lake George.
