LAKE LUZERNE -- Lee R. Butler, 70, of Church Street, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 16, 2012.
Born July 10, 1942, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Herman W. and Alma (Williams) Butler.
He was a 1960 graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School.
Lee served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he worked for eight years at International Paper Co. in Corinth. He later worked in construction, as a painter and, for 17 years, he worked at Pennysaver News in Corinth.
Lee enjoyed auctions, flea markets, garage sales and taking long rides throughout the countryside.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Clare Butler Hickok.
Survivors include six sisters, Patricia Straight of Ballston Spa, Norma Montena and her husband, Eugene, of Chestertown, Donna Shiel of Lake Luzerne, Alice Winslow of Hadley, Annette Marcotte of Medina, Ohio, and Barbara Green and her husband, James, of Corinth; many nieces, nephews and a cousin, Joanne Wickwire of Gillette, Wyo.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brewer Funeral Home Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Burkley, pastor of Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
