Leann Mary Sipowicz Tefft
HAMMONDSPORT and HUDSON FALLS - Leann Mary (Sipowicz) Tefft passed away on Nov. 6, 2016 surrounded by her two sons and daughter-in-law. She was 56 years old.
Leann was a 1978 graduate of Hudson Falls High School and earned an associate's degree in 1980 from SUNY at Alfred, leading to a long career in the medical field as a medical technologist. She loved her work and helping people in any way she could. In her free time, Leann enjoyed arts and crafts, watching her boys play hockey as they grew up, and following the Boston Red Sox. She also enjoyed spending time with her special niece Sierra Springer.
She is survived by her two children, Joshua Tefft, and his wife Amanda of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Benjamin Tefft of Tilton, New Hampshire; her siblings, Lynn Watkins, of Hudson Falls, Lisa Bordeau and her companion Jeff Murphy of Fort Edward, Linda Duval and her husband Andre, of Hartford, Leonard Sipowicz of Hudson Falls, Larry Sipowicz and his companion Grace Bradley of Argyle, several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Lori Springer and her parents, Leonard and Jean Sipowicz.
The family would like to thank Dr. Baez, Dr. Wall, Nurse Kathryn, and the entire staff at Geneva General Hospital for their excellent care and compassion during this difficult time. We would also like to thank all of her friends in the Hammondsport, New York area for their kindness and support.
Per her wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers please send any donations in her honor to the ASPCA or the Literacy Volunteers of America.
