GANSEVOORT — Emile LaRose, 92, passed away on April 3, 2019. Emile was born in Franklin, Vermont on May 17, 1926, where he attended school and met his wife, Veronica, whom he married in 1947.
Emile is a WWII veteran who was stationed in France and returned to Vermont after his discharge. In the early 1950’s, Emile and Veronica moved to Westport, New York where he worked at Bessboro Farm for 19 years. After the sale of the farm in 1970, he moved the family to South Glens Falls, New York. He was employed by Finch-Pruyn for a few years and eventually started his own remodeling business. Emile was a skilled carpenter who was fortunate enough to continue working well into his 80’s.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Veronica; his brother, Roger; and his sisters, Margaret and Lucille.
Emile is survived by his six children, Paul (Colleen) LaRose of Marshall, Michigan, Paulette Richards of Queensbury, New York, Gary (Monica) LaRose of Queensbury, New York, Emily (Peter) Donovan of Marlton, New Jersey, Michael (Sandra) LaRose of South Glens Falls, New York, and Michelle Howard of Queensbury, New York; and ten grandchildren, Ashleigh, Eric, Nicole, Kevin, Kelly, Samantha, Benjamin, Jacob, Joseph and Alizabeth.
Emile took great pleasure in vegetable gardening and giving his grandchildren rides on his John Deere tractor. He also enjoyed dancing and was a favorite dance partner at family celebrations.
Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at St. Michael’s Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, with a Mass of Christian burial to immediately follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
