GREENFIELD CENTER — Edna M. Baker, 65, of Comstock Road, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Oct. 21, 1952 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Van Volkenburg.
Edna attended high school in Pennsylvania and moved to the area in the mid-1970s.
She then met Everette Shippee, and the couple has resided together on Comstock Road for over 40 years.
Enda enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, hosting family gatherings and mostly being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by four brothers-in-law, Hank, Ken, Ronnie and Chet Shippee; and one son, Earl Shippee.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Everette G. Shippee of Greenfield Center; eight children, Francis Foote (Chris) of Ballston Spa, David Baker of Pennsylvania, Theresa Baker of Pennsylvania, Ray Baker, Kenny Baker, Yevette Castillo (George) of Florida, Everette Shippee Jr. of Leroy and Merritt Shippee of Buffalo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Gene Shippee of Stony Creek, Nelson Shippee of Corinth, Herb Shippee (Nancy Harrick) of Greenfield Center and Barry Shippee (Carrot) of Corinth; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave. Corinth.
Friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
