LAKE LUZERNE — E. Leonard Anderson, 76, of Call Street, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 28, 1936, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ernest and Edith (Wells) Anderson.
Leonard graduated from Hadley-Luzerne High School in 1956.
He joined the U.S. Army National Guard, serving for 20 years.
Leonard married Marie A. Fowler on Aug. 4,1961, in Corinth. The couple has resided in Lake Luzerne on Call Street for many years.
He was employed as a millwright at International Paper Co. in Corinth for 43 years until his retirement in 1999 and was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club.
Leonard also owned and raised beef cattle for several years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and drag racing when he was younger.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his step-mother, Dora Anderson; one half-brother, Leon Shaw, and two half-sisters, Joyce Paddock and Harriet Parente.
Survivors besides his wife of 51 years include two daughters, Yvonne E. Anderson (Jesse J. Walker) of Lake Luzerne and Michelle M. Anderson (Mark S. Jacox) of Lake Luzerne; one grandson, Leonard A. Anderson of Lake Luzerne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Densmore Funeral Home Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.
Burial will be at Anderson Family Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
