QUEENSBURY — Carolyn J. Martindale, 76, a resident of Queensbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 3, 1942 in Glens Falls, and was the daughter of the late Royal and Beatrice (Fowler) Chadwick.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her two sisters, Marlene Thibado and Patty Lewis; and one brother, David Chadwick.
Prior to her retirement, Carolyn and her husband were the owners of the Glens Falls Carpet Center. She enjoyed living and working on her farm and spending time with her animals especially, her Collie, Sassie, Golden Lab, Sunshine, and Rooster, Big Red. Because of her strong faith, she was able to show love and compassion in helping other people. Her home cooked meals were always made from scratch as were her delicious baked pies, cookies and cream puffs however, Carolyn’s trade mark creations, were her famous molasses crinkle cookies.
Survivors include her loving husband, Francis I. Martindale of Queensbury, together they were one month and one day from celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary; two sons, Francis Martindale, Jr. of Queensbury, and Robert Martindale (Lori) of Queensbury; five grandchildren, Cory Martindale of Queensbury, Brandon Martindale of Saratoga, Courtney Martindale of Queensbury, Kirsten Martindale of Queensbury and Anna Martindale of Queensbury; brothers, Royal Chadwick Jr. of Nebraska, Robert Chadwick (Donna) of Wilton, Gary Chadwick (Carol) of Kentucky, Donald Chadwick (Janice) of Queensbury, and John Chadwick of Queensbury; sister, Sharon Amenia (David) of Massachusetts; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Regan Denny Stafford, Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
Spring burial will take place at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Queensbury.
Calling hours are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home prior to the service.
