QUEENSBURY -- Brandan W. Rawson, 24, of Canterbury Wood, formerly of Lake Luzerne, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Glens Falls Hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1987, in Glens Falls. He attended Hadley-Luzerne Central School.
Brandan had been employed as a cook at several area restaurants.
He enjoyed sports and had been a member of the Hadley-Luzerne baseball, soccer and wrestling teams. He also enjoyed football. He was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Brandan was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Minnie Rawson.
Survivors include his two sons and pride and joys, Ryder Maxwell Rawson and Levi James Rawson, both of Queensbury; his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and James Beckwith of Lake Luzerne; his father, Andre Ovitt, and his companion, Cynthia Clark, of Hartford, N.Y.; one sister, Jennifer Marie Rawson of Lake Luzerne; a stepbrother, Dylan Gardner of Louisiana; his maternal grandfather, Winslow Rawson of Lake Luzerne; paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Ovitt of Porter Corners; the mother of his children, Dorothy “Dottie” Grenier of Queensbury; his stepmother, Patricia Ovitt of Queensbury; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brewer Funeral Home Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Steven Harness of the Wilton Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
Contributions in Brandan’s memory may be directed to an education fund for his sons, in care of Hudson River Credit Union.
