LAKE LUZERNE - Jeremiah "Jeremy" M. Tessier, 19, of Lake Avenue, died Tuesday afternoon, May 5, 2009, at Albany Medical Center.

Born on May 11, 1989, in Albany, he was the son of Robert Tessier and Linda Prince.

Jeremy was a 2008 graduate of Hadley-Luzerne High School and prior to moving to the area with his family in 2001, attended Cairo-Durham elementary and middle schools.

During the summer months, he worked at Papa's Ice Cream Parlor and at the Waterhouse Restaurant, both in Lake Luzerne. Most recently, he helped run Bargain Bob's on Call Street with his father and family.

Jeremy enjoyed fishing, especially while vacationing at Peck's Lake with his family. He enjoyed all sports including golf. While a student at Cairo Durham school he received awards for his golfing skills. He loved to sing and was a member of the Hadley-Luzerne school chorus and listening to country music. He also enjoyed watching his favorite show "That 70's Show."

Jeremy will always be remembered as a person who put other's needs before his. He gave the gift of life by donating his organs, helping to save the lives of several other people.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, "Pop Pop" Victor Aker and his maternal grandparents, Allen and Helene Prince.

He is survived by his father, Robert Tessier of Lake Luzerne and his fiancee, Ellie M. Harrington; his mother, Linda Prince of Medford, N.Y.; a brother, Joshua J. Tessier of Glens Falls; his sister, Darlene E. Tessier of Lake Luzerne; half-sister, Alondra Helmer of East Durham; stepbrother, Michael J. Haas of Fort Edward; his paternal grandmother, "Nana" Elfrieda "DeDe" Aker-Harris and her husband, Harold Harris, of Glen Lake; his maternal grandmother, Carol Prince of Selden, N.Y.; his special great-great-aunt, "Aunt Be" Elfrieda Rosenberger, whom he cared for; his other aunts, Victoria DeSantis and her husband, Jim, of Ballston Lake, Wendy Goldman of Selden, Barbara Feliccardi and her husband, John of Long Island; many great-aunts including Margaret Watson; uncles, Skip Aker and his wife, Karen, of Lindenhurst; cousins, Frankie, Peggy, James, Susan, Walter, Chris, Tina, Patti, Rachel, Vito and Melissa; a niece, Madison M. Haas with a second niece, Serenity Michelle Haas, due to be born in July; step-grandparents, Bill and Marie Richards of Corinth; many friends in Cairo and Lake Luzerne.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hadley-Luzerne Wesleyan Church, corner of Lynch Dr. and Route 9N with the Rev. Richard Osborne, pastor, officiating.

Following the funeral service, friends and family are invited to gather at the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church Jeffers Room for refreshments.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeremy's memory may be directed to the Hadley-Luzerne Scholarship Fund, c/o Beecher Baker, 273 Lake Ave., Lake Luzerne, NY 12846, where a scholarship for a student with an interest in music will be established in Jeremy's name.
