LAKE LUZERNE Margaret M. Ralph, 73, of Harris Avenue, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Saratoga Hospital Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born on June 20, 1935, in Day, she was the daughter of the late Eleanore Bovee.
Mrs. Ralph attended Hadley-Luzerne High School.
She married Harold D. "Smokey" Ralph Jr. on July 18, 1954, in Lake Luzerne. The couple has resided in the Corinth and Lake Luzerne area most of their lives.
Mrs. Ralph worked at the International Paper Co. in Corinth for a few years, and then was employed as a seamstress at the Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth for many years.
She was a member of the William J. Varney American Legion Post No. 862 Auxiliary of Lake Luzerne and was a member of the Disabled American Veteran Auxiliary of Albany.
Mrs. Ralph enjoyed sewing, crafts and mostly her family.
Besides her mother, she was also predeceased by one brother, Donald Bovee.
Survivors besides her husband of 53 years include three daughters: Donna Macero of Glens Falls, Connie Marcotte and her husband, Michael, of Lake Luzerne, and Dawn Ralph of Lake Luzerne; nine grandchildren: Cindy Woodcock and her husband, Chris, of Hadley, Eric VanDyke of Georgia, Tiffany Macero of Glens Falls, Michelle Marcotte of Lake Luzerne, Margo Macero of Glens Falls, Justin and Keith Bennett of Lake Luzerne, and Steven Duffney of Glens Falls and David Duffney of Lake Luzerne; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.
Burial will be at Corinth Rural Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday July 6, at the funeral home.
Members of the William J. Varney American Legion Post No. 862 Auxiliary will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
The family suggests that donations be made in Margaret's memory to the residents fund at the Saratoga Hospital Nursing Home, 211 Church St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or the William J. Varney American Legion Post No. 862 Auxiliary, Lake Avenue, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846.
The family also would like to thank the staff on D2 at the Saratoga Hospital Nursing Home for their care and kindness shown to Margaret during the last four years.
