Mr. & Mrs. Alvin C. Peachman recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. A gathering ofFamily and friends toasted the couple on this special occasion at the home of their daughter.
Alvin and Gerda Meyer were married on June 12, 1949 by Reverend H.J. Rippe at Trinity Lutheran Church in Astoria, Queens. The groom’s brother, the late William Peachman served as Best Man. The bride’s best friend, Helen Westhauser, served as Maid of Honor. Following their wedding reception, the couple honeymooned on the French River inn Canada for 3 weeks. A few years later, the couple moved to HudsonFalls, where Alvin had accepted a teaching position with Hudson Falls Schools where he enjoyed his career until retirement in 1983. Gerda, aka Gretchen, became a homemaker where, together, they raised 3 children: Fredrich (Jean) Peachman of Youngstown, Ohio; Richard (Joan) Peachman of Queensbury; and Jane (Mark) Pepin of Hudson Falls. They have 7 wonderful grandchildren and 2 adorable great grandchildren. The coupled still resides in their home in HudsonFalls.
God richly blessed Alvin & Gretchen, as they have been each other’s best friend and partner for life. Their children would like to say “Happy Anniversary” to our role models in life, love and happiness.
