Mr. and Mrs. Albert Oudekerk of South Glens Falls celebrated their 65th anniversary recently at a week-long vacation on Cape Cod and Nantucket attended by all of their children, their spouses, close friends, several grandchildren and one very busy two-year old great-grandson.
Albert Oudekerk and Eleanor Harris were married June 19th, 1949 by Rev. Charles Chamberlain at Bay Road Presbyterian Church in Queensbury. Their attendants were the former Miss Marjorie Dyer, Bion Arnold and the former Miss Shirley Oudekerk.
Their five children are Richard and Sue Oudekerk of South Glens Falls, Douglas Oudekerk and Pamela Christensen of St. Paul, MN, Lynne Oudekerk and Daniel Harrison of East Greenbush, NY, Lori Hinman of Auburn, NY, and Claudia and Robert Shilo of Wolfeboro, NH. The couple has eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. They are immensely proud of the accomplishments of all their children and their families.
They built their first home in Queensbury, and later moved their family to Auburn, New York. In 1986, they returned to Eleanor’s family home in Queenbury which they enjoyed operating as The Berry Farm Bed and Breakfast in retirement. They now reside in South Glens Falls. Both enjoy their hobbies, traveling and volunteering, and look forward to the next adventure.
