GLENS FALLS -- The Shirt Factory Arts and Healing Center is taking a gallery space and converting it into a welcome area for visitors.
The artisan enclave is taking over the Tom Myott Gallery space on the first floor, near the loading dock entrance, to be used as a welcome center, exhibition space and management office.
The goal is to promote the diverse tenants inside the three-story building by displaying works from the artists.
A large magnetic map now shows tenants' locations and availability. A display about the building's history and events is also planned for the lobby.
The Shirt Factory will celebrate the new gallery space with a grand opening from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 10.
Painter Tom Myott, who is closing the Tom Myott Gallery, has plans to expand a corner gallery in Suite 103 that is attached to his and potter Bill McCarthy's studio space.
