190 Grille & Cinema

Patrons gather at 190 Grille & Cinema, which has now closed, during the Adirondack Film Festival in Glens Falls in 2016. A new restaurant, one that won't feature movies, is planned for the space.

GLENS FALLS — The owner of Downtown City Tavern will open a second restaurant in the former 190 Grille & Cinema space.

The new restaurant is being described as a hybrid concept offering house-roasted coffee, baked goods, deli sandwiches, a carving station and more, according to a news release from owner Craig Merrell.

In addition, there will be table service for people looking for a traditional dining experience.

The restaurant will feature an eclectic menu, comprehensive wine selection and family-style options.

There will be private event spaces, entertainment areas and two bars incorporated into the design.

The space had previously been home to 190 Grille & Cinema before it closed on Dec. 2 after two-and-a-half years in operation. Before that, it was operated as Aimie’s Dinner & Movie from 2001 to 2015.

Downtown City Tavern will continue to operate.
