Foundation names its new trustees

GLENS FALLS -- The Glens Falls Hospital Foundation has named John Brodt Jr., John Kvocka and Paul H. Wein, Esq. to its board of trustees.

Brodt, of South Glens Falls, is a vice president at Behan Communications, Inc. and directs the firm's corporate and marketing communications divisions. He serves on the boards of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and Amanda's House, Inc.

Kvocka is vice president and CFO of Finch Paper LLC. A resident of Queensbury, he serves on the boards of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Warren County Economic Development Corporation. He is a certified franchise consultant and senior counselor for SCORE, a national nonprofit association dedicated to educating and mentoring entrepreneurs and helping small businesses succeed.

Wein, from Latham and Schroon Lake, is a principal with LaFave Wein & Frament, PLLC, a civil litigation firm. He serves on the board of directors of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis and as general counsel and on the board of Northeast Parent & Child Society.

Founded in 1997, the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation raises private funds to help meet the hospital's continuing needs.

Local bank gets a five-star rating

GLENS FALLS -- Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. has received a five-star rating from BauerFinancial Inc., a bank rating and research firm.

The bank has received the highest rating for strength and performance for 17 consecutive quarters.

BauerFinancial cited impressive capital levels, an excellent loan portfolio and low delinquent loan levels.

Glens Falls National has 29 offices in northeastern New York.

CWI announces new appointment

GLENS FALLS -- Community, Work & Independence, Inc. has announced the appointment of Mark A. Donahue as president and CEO.

Donahue has been with the not-for-profit human services agency since 2001 as its chief financial officer, and has been a driving force behind much of the agency's expansion, development and fiscal solvency.

Previously, he was director of finance for Catholic Charities Developmental Disabilities Services in Latham.

Donahue earned his bachelor of science in business administration from Castleton State College and his master's of science in accountancy from the University at Albany.

He is president of the board of directors for the Adirondack Balloon Festival and serves as its balloonmeister. He is also secretary of the NYS Financial Managers Association, a member of the Finance Committee for Moreau Community Center, the organizer of the Cambridge Valley Balloon Festival and has been recognized as one of The Post-Star's "20 under 40" award recipients.

Donahue lives in Queensbury.

Wojnicki receives CPA designation

QUEENSBURY -- The certified public accounting firm CMJ, LLP has announced that Amanda Wojnicki received her CPA designation. CPAs in New York state are licensed by the New York State Department of Education after passing four rigorous exams and completing two years of accounting experience.

Wojnicki joined CMJ in 2008 and is a senior associate in accounting, assurance and advisory services.

She received her B.A. degree in accounting from Elms College. Wojnicki lives in Queensbury.

Litchmore, Reali join hospital staff

GLENS FALLS -- Dr. Trevor Litchmore of Rotterdam and Dr. Dean Reali of Lake George have joined the staff at Glens Falls Hospital.

Litchmore, a graduate of the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo, is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians. He will practice internal medicine at the Broad Street Medical Group.

Lichtmore is a New York State Workers' Compensation Physician and the only physician north of Albany designated by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to conduct medical examinations on individuals seeking to adjust their citizenship status in the United States or apply for an immigrant visa abroad. He has been recognized by IPRO, the New York State Quality Improvement Organization, with a Certificate of Recognition for Diabetes Management and received the Medical Medal of Honor from Pfizer, Inc. for care rendered to the indigent community.

Reali will join the Hospitalist Team at Glens Falls Hospital.

He is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

For the past 15 years he has been working at Hudson Headwaters Health Network in Warrensburg specializing in internal medicine and the geriatric population through the HHHN nursing home practice.

He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, American Osteopathic Society and president of the Warren County Medical Society.

GlobalFoundries welcomes Kimball

GlobalFoundries has announced the appointment of Kevin Kimball to vice president of Global Corporate Communications at the company's headquarters in Silicon Valley. In this role, Kimball will support the GlobalFoundries growing global operations and lead the strategic development of its global corporate communications organization.

He has more than 25 years communications experience including leadership of global communications efforts at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Cadence, VLSI/Philips Semiconductors, Siemens and GE. Most recently, Kimball managed global corporate communications at Force10 Networks, where he was responsible for public relations, including media and analyst relationships, as well as executive and internal communications.

A native of upstate New York, Kimball grew up in Saratoga County.

Cooper joins team at Keller Williams

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Arthur Cooper of Gansevoort has joined Keller Williams Realty as a licensed sales associate.

Previously, Cooper was affiliated with Stephenson Realty in Isle of Wight, Va. and Realty USA. He held the designation of Rookie Developer of the Year in recognition of his success in developing several rural residential subdivisions.

Cooper is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the New York State Association of Realtors, and the Greater Capital District Association of Realtors.

GANSEVOORT -- Nicole Gambacurta of Gansevoort has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct sales company featuring more than 60 easy to prepare foods.

Sotheby's realty welcomes Pickney

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Mary Lou Pinckney has joined Select Sotheby's International Realty as an associate broker. Pinckney specializes in residential, new construction and apartment rentals covering the greater Capital District - Albany County to Saratoga County.

She comes to Sotheby's from Coldwell Banker with more than 15 years real estate experience.

A lifelong Capital District resident, Pinckney has been rated in the "Top 100 Realtors" in the Capital District by the Albany Business Review, received a Women's Council Award and International Diamond Award.

She is on the board of directors of the YMCA and is an active member of the Ronald McDonald House, Leukemia Foundation, and Albany Medical Pediatric Oncology.

Rachel Zuckerman joins Sotheby's firm

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Rachel Zuckerman has joined Select Sotheby's International Realty as associate broker.

Zuckerman previously worked at Coldwell Banker King George Realty where she specialized in residential resort/lakefront properties and holds special designations in Short Sales, Negotiation Specialist and EPRO. Prior to that, Zuckerman lived in the New York/New Jersey metro area and was employed for several years with a commercial real estate developer where she focused on lease negotiations and landlord-tenant liaisons. She also spent many seasons working at the Sagamore Resort, first as a service attendant, working her way up to captain.

Mosher-Hill joins insurance staff

WARRENSBURG -- Adirondack Regional Insurance Agency Inc. has announced the addition of Kathy Mosher-Hill to its team of insurance professionals. As branch manager, Mosher-Hill will offer personal and commercial insurance coverage through several companies.

She has been a licensed insurance broker since 1995.

An alumni of Warrensburg Central School, Mosher-Hill is a graduate of Siena College with a bachelor of science degree in marketing and management.

She lives in Adirondack with her husband Mike, and they are active members of the Northern Warren Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.

In addition to the Warrensburg location, Adirondack Regional has an office in Queensbury across from Adirondack Community College.

Two Skidmore grads are hired by Three

SARATOA SPRINGS -- Saratoga-based research consultancy firm Three has hired two recent Skidmore College graduates.

Margaux Hoagland has joined the company as quantitative storyteller; Ian Ritchey has been named young thoughtful fellow. They will work on quantitative and qualitative market research projects for international brands and agencies.

A recent Skidmore graduate with a psychology major and a minor in business, Hoagland brings strong statistics, data analysis and strategic capabilities to her new role. She previously worked as a research assistant and lab coordinator in the Creating Healthy People Lab at Skidmore College. She originally hails from the Syracuse area.

Ritchey holds a bachelor's degree in business, with a minor in economics. He has worked with Three since June 2010. Ritchey previously served as the student director of the Skidmore-Saratoga Entrepreneurial Partnership and was the recipient of the Wall Street Journal award for outstanding achievement and interest in applied management. He is originally from Pittsburgh, Pa.

Both will be based at Three's headquarters in Saratoga Springs.

The company, which specializes in communication and collaboration capabilities, completed the SAS 70 audit from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The certification demonstrates the compnay's ability to deliver an IT and Internet operations securely, effectively and reliably.
