SARATOGA SPRINGS — A Saratoga Springs-based internet domain name registrar company, Brandsight Inc., has joined the Start-Up NY program and is partnering with SUNY Adirondack.
The company was included in a list released this week by Empire State Development of 23 businesses that are participating in the program, which provides income and sales tax breaks to businesses for 10 years if they locate within a mile of a SUNY college.
The company helps businesses manage and optimize their internet domain name portfolios, according to SUNY Adirondack President Kristine Duffy. She said the company plans to create 14 new jobs and invest $50,000.
Brandsight first approached the college in October 2016 and received approval from Empire State Development back in April.
Duffy said the business is working with the college to set up internships and guest speakers, including at the college’s new entrepreneur center, which is part of the Adirondack Regional Workforce Readiness Center now under construction.
