Elise Stefanik is one of the six members of Congress from New York who has accepted donations from the National Rifle Association, according to this story in the Washington Post. Stefanik has spoken out against New York's Safe Act, which bans rifles like the AR-15 used to kill dozens of people in Orlando, and also used to kill dozens of children in Newtown, Connecticut. It's a good gun for killing lots of people at a time. It has no other use, as far as I can tell, but it is getting quite the workout from killers in this country looking for the best weapon for their obsession. The NRA supports the sale of this people-killing machine, of course. So does Elise Stefanik, who has received $4,000 of the almost $3 million the NRA has given to members of Congress since 1998.
