SlickFin Brewing Company announced on Facebook Friday that it received its microbrewery license from the New York State Liquor Authority.

While it does not mean craft beer in Fort Edward tonight, owners Kris and Heather March said they're brewing Saturday and in a few weeks should have enough beer to open their doors at 147-149 Broadway.

They're beyond excited, they told their followers.

Hudson Falls business neighbor Drake Hewitt also got news Thursday that the state gave him a temporary alcohol permit for his establishment, the Hudson River Brewhouse. He's starting off with coffee and tea for now, but plans to serve beer and wine in the next few days at 171 Main St.

He celebrated with a soft opening Thursday, and I'll have more on that in our business section next week.

Cheers!
