Calgary returns Sven Baertschi to Adirondack

  • 0

Sven Baertschi is on his way back to the AHL. Calgary assigned the left wing to the Adirondack Flames on Tuesday.

In 14 NHL games, Baertschi had three assists and four penalty minutes. Before being recalled, Baertschi had three assists and six penalty minutes in 10 AHL games.

Judging by other players' trips from Calgary, Baertschi will probably take a day of travel. That gets slightly complicated because the Adirondack Flames leave for a nine-day road trip on Wednesday.

Baertschi might just meet the Flames in Milwaukee when they arrive on Thursday. That's certainly makes for an easier trip than joining the team first, though there are no direct flights between Calgary and Milwaukee.

This gives the Adirondack Flames a total of 17 forwards, though Corban Knight practiced in non-contact yellow (he re-injured a previously broken thumb) and Devin Setoguchi was missing from practice on Tuesday. Assuming neither immediately returns, the Flames still have 15 forwards.
