Local residents spotted this disc of ice spinning in a stream in Essex County late last month.

A video shot by a trio of Queensbury residents had the Internet abuzz in recent days.

Laura Carusone posted the video, which was picked up by newyorkupstate.com in recent days. It was from a hiking trip Thanksgiving Day in Essex County, when they spotted a bizarre spinning disc of ice on Johns Brook, near Bushnell Falls.

The water's current kept the area of stream from freezing completely, and the circular piece of ice that broke off just kept spinning.

The voice of the narrator of the video is Carusone's cousin, Warren County District Attorney Jason Carusone, who is an avid hiker during his non-crime-fighting days.
