Francois "Chip" Barcomb and Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek.

Francois "Chip" Barcomb, a Glens Falls-area native, won the Jeopardy! TV game show teachers tournament Friday night.

Barcomb, a 1986 graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls who grew up in Fort Edward, won his way through the two-week tourney, culminating with the two-day finals that were broadcast Thursday and Friday night on WTEN Channel 10. The second place finisher, whom Barcomb topped $41,600 to $32,000, is a teacher in Troy.

Barcomb won $100,000 for acing the tourney.

Barcomb, a graduate of RPI as well, lives in New Paltz and teaches at a high school in Westchester County.
