I am very excited to be working as the new education reporter for The Post-Star. I will cover all things school related as well as other happenings around town. Much of my reporting to this point has revolved around using public data to dig into what may be lurking beneath the surface, and I hope to bring that skill set into many of the stories I produce here.
I was born and raised in South Carolina and attended Wofford College for my undergraduate education. I earned my BA in 2014 and after graduation I moved to Germany to teach English and work as an Au Pair. I finished out the school year there before returning home, realizing I wanted to work as a reporter and eventually deciding that graduate school was my best option for pursuing a career. I earned a master’s degree in journalism from American University this summer, working for the Washington Post and several other publications along the way.
As an avid backpacker, I am also looking forward to exploring the Adirondacks and all of the other beautiful scenery in this part of the country.
