This one sounds like a lot of fun for those involved.
Monday, Harmonic Brass from Munich, Germany, will visit to the Lake George Junior-Senior High School, and the professional musicians will conduct master classes with over 100 brass students from high schools in the region.
In the morning, students will break into instrument groups that include trumpet, French horn, trombone, and tuba. Each group will warm up together and learn two pieces of music. The groups will convene in the afternoon to rehearse for a “mass brass” performance as an ensemble.
Members of Harmonic Brass will play with the student ensemble during the “mass brass” performance at 1:50 p.m. in the auditorium. The professional quintet will then play a few pieces from their repertoire for the student musicians and the student body.
Harmonic Brass is known for its elegant big brass sound since 1991. They have performed in New York Carnegie Hall, Seoul Arts Center, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and more. They perform approximately 120 concerts per year. For more information about Harmonic Brass, go to: www.harmonicbrass.de.
