Stefanik co-sponsors legislation to establish service dog program for PTSD sufferers

U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, was an original co-sponsor of legislation Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., introduced March 16 to establish a demonstration program to provide service dogs to veterans with post traumatic stress disorder, according to the Library of Congress government information web site.

The legislation had 26 co-sponsors, as of Monday -- 22 Republicans and four Democrats.

Elsewhere in New York, Rep. John Katko, R-Cammilus, is a co-sponsor.
