Three museums in the Adirondack Park are the recipients of more than $405,000 worth of grant funding.

Rep. Elise Stefanik's office announced the amounts in a news release on Tuesday.

They are as follows:

  • Historic Saranac Lake, $20,650
  • Adirondack Experience, $140,000
  • The Wild Center, $245,161

Rep. Stefanik released this statement: “This funding will enable several local museums to further develop their programming, honoring the rich environmental history of our district and equipping visitors with the knowledge they need to protect our environment for generations to come. I congratulate the recipients of these important grants and thank them for their years of work promoting conservation, the sciences, and North Country history.”

The series of Museums for America Grants are awarded to environmentally-focused museums by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The grant program is the largest discretionary program for museums, according to the news release.
