Spring Zing flyer

Warren County Fish Hatchery's annual "Spring Zing" event has grown into a great fishing-centric event, allowing experts to teach kids and adults alike about the biology of trout as well as how to fish for them.

The event is set again for this Saturday, May 11 at the fish hatchery on Echo Lake Road in Warrensburg.

There are plenty of prizes, including fishing equipment giveaways, demonstrations and lunch.

It's all free thanks to support from Warren County and NY DEC as well as a number of local businesses and organizations, including Trout Unlimited, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Crossroads Country Store & Sport Shop, Fish307, Blue Heron Fly Shop, Nemec's Sport Shop and Lake George Association.

And the hatchery's trout, including the big retired (from breeding, anyway) trout, will be on display.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
