Big pike

Joe Getchius, center, with a massive northern pike caught on Great Sacandaga Lake.

That big pike that we got a picture of earlier this week was caught on Great Sacandaga Lake, but it turns out the name we were given was not that of the angler who caught it.

It was actually a guy by the name of Joe Getchius caught it, but he was not able to take it to be weighed because of a travel commitment. So his a friend took it to Fish307 in Queensbury, where the 45-incher weighed in at 26 pounds.

Getchius' girlfriend, Christen Santos, reached out to explain the confusion, and sent us a picture of the gang with the "wall-mounter," as she put it.

No matter who caught it, it's a once-in-a-lifetime fish.
