News and online editor

Adam Colver is the online editor at The Post-Star. He manages poststar.com, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram social media accounts.

The Post-Star has a new mobile app and it has been a long-time coming.

The new app will deliver faster breaking news alerts and continue to provide the same great content found on poststar.com and in our daily print product.

If you have already downloaded The Post-Star app and have allowed updates you will notice the change the next time to click your Post-Star icon on your device.

For those who have not downloaded the app we have a link setup at poststar.com/apps which will send you directly to the Apple or Android app for your device.

For those who already have a version of the app, a manual update may be required due to restricting app updates or other device settings. Luckily it only takes a minute.

1. Visit poststar.com/apps and select the link which corresponds with your device. Google Play for Android devices or the App Store for iPhones, iPads etc.

2. An UPDATE icon should appear momentarily.

3. Click Update and watch the progress bar.

4. Congratulations you now have the new Post-Star app on your device.

As with anything that is new, there may be a few bugs to work out as we are learning our way around it as well.

One feature that is missing for right now is the subscriber login and the ability to make comments on articles via the app.

An update is scheduled in the beginning of 2019 to add comments and the subscription service.

To manage your subscription and make comments visit poststar.com by your web browser on your mobile device as nothing has changed here.
