Schuylerville has four sign
Four student-athletes from Schuylerville signed their National Letters of Intent on Tuesday to attend Division I or Division II colleges next fall and play sports.
Emily Swenson, who rows for the Saratoga Rowing Association, will attend Brown University. Swenson has earned numerous medal-podium finishes over her career on the state and national level, both as a sculler and part of larger boats. Justin Carte will attend Drexel University, where he will play lacrosse. Carte, a midfielder, scored a Section II-record 116 goals last season.
Andrew Phillips signed with Saint Rose to play lacrosse, and Ben Follos signed with Saint Rose to play lacrosse and golf. Phillips is a midfielder and Follos is a long-stick midfielder/defenseman. Follos also was the medalist in the Section II, Class B Golf Tournament this fall.
Schmitt signs for lacrosse
Burr and Burton Academy senior Steven Schmitt, of Cambridge, recently signed his National Letter of Intent to attend Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where he also will play Division I men’s lacrosse.
Schmitt, a defenseman, was a second-team All-American and first-team All-State. He had 30 caused turnovers, 72 ground balls, six goals and five assists.
Seats available for spectator bus
A limited number of seats are available on the DELLA Honda of Glens Falls spectator bus, departing at 7 a.m. sharp, Saturday, from the Glens Falls High School High School parking lot, for those wishing to see Glens Falls play in the Class B state football final at the Carrier Dome.
