NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE INCREASE
On May 4, 2023, Liberty Utilities (New York Water)
Corp. (the Company) filed with the New York State
Public Service Commission (Commission) proposed
changes to its tariff, P.S.C. No. 1—Water, together
with supporting data. The proposed changes would
increase the Company’s annual consolidated
revenue by $39,745,567 million (or 34.24%) for the rate
year ending March 31, 2025. These changes are driven
by necessary capital investments, including main
replacement, treatment facilities, well upgrades, and
meter installation, as well as the recovery for several
initiatives that directly impact the service provided to
customers, including the creation of 17 local customer
service positions and the implementation of a lowincome and arrearage management programs.
The estimated average residential bill for customers
currently in the Company’s Service Area 1 (Lynbrook)
will increase by $18.32, Service Area 2 (Merrick)
will increase by $15.74, and Sea Cliff (North Shore)
customers will increase by $7.37.
The Company’s proposal will take effect April 1,
2024, subject to approval by the Commission. The
Commission may approve, modify, or reject any or
all of the proposed tariff changes. The filing may be
