SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- In a match that lasted two and a half hours Thursday, second-seeded Lake George rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat third-seeded Hartford, 3-2, in a Class D semifinal of the Section II Girls Volleyball Tournament.
The Warriors won, 23-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-21, 25-23. They will play Lake George in the championship at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Queensbury.
Sara Anderson paced Lake George with 21 kills, seven blocks and 14 digs, while Tess Bannon supplied 64 digs.
Rachael Pliscofsky had 15 digs, 20 points and five aces for the Warriors (16-3). Chelsea Scott added 30 assists, four kills and seven digs. Finally, Kelly Flaherty provided 12 digs and 14 points.
For Hartford (14-3), Miriam Nestle had 18 kills and 30 digs, while Jaclyn Petteys provided 18 blocks and 10 kills. Kaitlin Tripp had 13 kills and 14 digs, with Christina Petteys providing 24 kills and 22 digs.
Mayfield 3, Argyle 0
SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Cassi Brancato's five kills, one block and nine assists helped the top-seeded Panthers to a 25-12, 26-24, 25-19 victory.
Kacie Edwards added seven kills, three blocks and five points for the winners, while Christie Shwoers had nine kills and 16 points. Dianna Hime had 14 points and Whitney Ostrander contributed five kills and one block.
Sarah Bonhote led fourth-seeded Argyle (14-8) with five assists and five kills. Shelby Graham had five kills and two blocks; Ashley Ellis had three kills and two aces; and Amber Marshall provided 19 digs.
CLASS B SEMIFINALS
Schalmont 3, Hudson Falls 1
BROADALBIN -- Stacy Scheffer finished with 43 assists and nine digs to help lead the Sabres to the 25-12, 21-25, 25-17, 25-18 victory.
Schalmont (21-2) will play Ravena in the final in a rematch of last year's title game.
Hilary Swift added 13 kills and seven blocks for the winners, while Casey Brown had 14 digs and four kills.
Megan Seeley led the Tigers (14-5) with eight kills and two blocks and Morghan Heym added eight digs and six kills. Nikki Jordon had four kills and six digs. Melissa McDonald dished out 21 assists and Melanie McDonald made six digs in the loss.
Hudson Falls finished the year with a 14-5 record.
CLASS C SEMIFINALS
Voorheesville 3, Schuylerville 1
ROTTERDAM -- Morgan Vandervort led the Blackbirds with 15 digs, eight kills, 12 points and six aces.
Game scores were 25-20, 25-9, 23-25, 25-17.
Rebecca Balblin had seven kills, six digs and eight points, while Ellen Wagner contributed 19 digs and 13 points for Voorheesville (16-2).
The Blackbirds play Loudonville Christian in the final at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Jade Williams led Schuylerville (10-8) with 10 points, 21 assists and five blocks. Kelsey Cruikshank added 11 points and Erica Larkin had five kills.
