MANCHESTER, N.H. — Manchester jumped out to a 3-1 first-period lead Saturday night and poured it on in the third to top the Adirondack Thunder 8-3.
Jordan LaVallee-Smotherman racked up a five-point night with three goals and two assists to power the Monarchs.
The Thunder were outshot 48-35, as goalie Drew Fielding was forced to make 40 saves.
Blake Thompson, Terrence Wallin and Brian Ward netted goals for Adirondack (26-18-2-2), which is now in a second-place tie with Wheeling and Reading in the ECHL’s North Division with 56 points.
Manchester, which remained in first in the North, got 32 saves from goalie Charles Williams.
The Thunder continue their road trip next weekend with a three-game series at Norfolk from Friday through Sunday.
