WATERFORD -- Jackie Sorensen scored three times as second-seeded Waterford held off a stiff challenge from Greenwich, beating the Witches 4-1 in a Class C quarterfinal of the Section II Girls Soccer Tournament on Saturday.
The Witches outshot Waterford 25-6, but Emily Eddy was the only player to score for the seventh-seeded team.

Maple Hill 3, Hoosic Valley 1
CASTLETON -- Meeghan Arno recorded a goal and an assist as second-seeded Maple Hill held off an upset bid by 10th-ranked Hoosic Valley.
Maple Hill plays Cambridge in the semifinals on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Stillwater.

Chatham 1, Hoosick Falls 0
HOOSICK FALLS -- Top-seeded Hoosick Falls held a 24-5 advantage in shots, but Chatham scored the game's only goal early in the second half to pull off the upset.
