GREENWICH -- After a scoreless first half, the Greenwich boys soccer team unleashed a string of goals to beat Lake George, 3-0, in the Section II Class C quarterfinal on Friday.

Ethan Oswald finished off a rebound from Cameron Cox eight minutes into the second half, and four minutes later, Cox headed in one of his own. Within two minutes, Ellory Harrington collected a pass off a direct kick for the final goal.

Keeper Kyle Rodd earned his and the team's fourth-straight shutout.

Next Tuesday at 5 p.m., Greenwich will travel to Johnstown to play the winner of Saturday's Berlin/Duanesburg game.

CLASS AA Opening Round

Ballston Spa 3, Queensbury 2

QUEENSBURY -- Ballston Spa got on the board first with a goal from Alec Johnson to help the Scotties edge Queensbury.

Sam Keenan answered with a penalty-kick goal for the Spartans two minutes later, but Ballston Spa's Jeff Piper headed in another for the 2-1 tie at the half.

Less than a minute into the second half, Mike Majewski scored off a feed from Cody Davis to tie the game. With about 14 minutes remaining, Kevin Marin nailed in the game-winner for Ballston Spa.

Queensbury's Garrett Agans made 10 saves in goal, and the Scotties' Eric Mendez saved four.

Hoosick Falls 4, Chatham 1

CHATHAM -- Andy Didonato's overall play at the midfield helped seventh-seeded Hoosick Falls top second-seeded Chatham.

Didonato controlled the midfield and added two goals and an assist. PJ Priore and Chris LaCroix also tallied for Hoosick Falls.

The Panthers play Schoharie in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Johnstown.

Class D Quarterfinals

Fort Ann 3, New Lebanon 2

HUDSON FALLS -- Jeff Johnson opened the scoring with seven minutes left in the first half and drove in another 18 seconds later to lift Fort Ann over New Lebanon, 3-2, in the Class D quarterfinal at Hudson Falls on Friday.

New Lebanon's Todd Ferguson scored one of his two goals before the half, but Fort Ann's Jeremy Hoag put in another off a restart in the second half to maintain the lead.

The Cardinals' Robert Sprague made 16 saves in the win.

Fort Ann advances to the semifinal against Bolton at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Morse Athletic Complex.
